Set Up Technician – 3rd Shift

Job Duties

• Perform all required setup activities to ensure the molding process meets the requirements

• Document processing changes, adjustments, problems or other action taken and notify quality

department for any possible dimensioning re-verification and visual criteria needed due to process

changes

• Perform visual quality checks and monitor press cycle times; make changes as needed to improve or

enhance product quality and efficiencies following proper change notifications

• Perform startup operations on all machines and equipment (i.e., Grinders, Dryers, etc.)

• Effectively troubleshoot processing concerns

• Test and inspect machines to determine safe and efficient operation

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications and shop orders to determine machine setup,

production methods and sequence of operation when applicable

• Perform complex troubleshooting of equipment/tooling and perform adjustments

• Operate powered industrial equipment if needed

• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately  

• Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.)

• Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures

• Perform other duties as assigned

Experience and Education

• Perform work under minimal supervision  

• Handle complex issues and problems and refer only the most complex issues to higher level staff

• Possess comprehensive working knowledge of subject matter

• Typically require a 2-year technical degree or equivalent and 4 to 6 years of years of experience in plastic

injection molding; experience driving powered industrial equipment preferred

• Powered industrial equipment certification preferred  

• Provide leadership, coaching and/or mentoring to a subordinate group
