The Asset Management Group is seeking Mechanical Designers/Engineers or someone that has previous experience in asset management to assist in the comprehensive documentation of our client's manufacturing equipment, including paper and converting equipment. Review equipment design plans and Bills of Materials (BOM) to accurately document every individual part of machinery into an SAP system. Record detailed information for each component, including manufacturer details, part numbers, quantities, and specifications.

Define, create, and implement cost-effective methods for the manufacture and inspection of complex component parts. · Design and/or procure new tooling, gauging, and fixturing. · Create CNC programs using CAM software and work with operators to prove out programs.

Engineer, develop, and prove out product concepts and designs. · Design and analyze hydraulic circuits and circuit components for customer applications. · Modify, update, or change existing product and component drawings, test procedures, and assembly instructions.

This position will require a person with 3-5 years industrial machine design experience. Must be proficient in AutoCAD Inventor design software and be able to multitask in a fast paced work environment. Experience within packaging industry would be a plus. Strengths include sheet metal weldment design, component creation and material selection, part tolerancing and pneumatics.

Perform and champion controls related engineering tasks (i.e. – conceptualization, risk assessment, design, generation of schematics, component specification, safety evaluation, purchasing support, programming, assembly support, de-bug, safety validation, and field commissioning). Systems may include programmable logic controllers (PLC), operator interface terminals (OIT), safety controllers, robots, servos, distributed I/O, welders, AC/DC drives, vision systems, material handling, conveyors, spraying, dispensing, industrial networks, instrumentation, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electro-mechanical control devices. Bench-test programs and new technologies prior to equipment de-bug. Identify potential risk areas, long-lead items, and/or financial impacts early in the project in order to provide proactive or alternative solutions. Provide leadership, guidance, assistance, and hands-on support to a team of internal and external controls engineering resources related to the assigned projects. Coordinated efforts with vendors, suppliers, outside engineering firms, and contract engineers as related to the assigned projects. Engage in progress review and planning meetings with the Controls Engineering Manager, Project Manager, Mechanical Engineers, Assembly, and Service personal during the design, build, start-up, commissioning, warranty, and post mortem periods of the project. Frequently monitor project status, hours, and milestones. Provide technical mentoring of new products, technologies and practices to company's service and assembly staff. Contributes to and supports all mechanical testing activity of samples and projects that are processed by the Laboratory. Their customers bring them material and ask them to provide data on when materials fail / why they fail and so on. So The job is to come up with unique ways to test this. They have to design things that hold the material which can be anything from trailer hitches to Fire hydrants and allow them to be tested till break. That said, They Design – Build -and Test. So they need some Fab skills along with design skills.
