ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  

Reads work orders, follows production drawings, instructions, and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.  

Based on experience, devises and suggests improvements to assembly processes and documentation, including:

• Creates/improves/updates assembly instructions.

• Improves/updates assembly drawings by hand for submission to Drafting.

Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in jig, fixture, or other holding device.  

Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, welds, solders, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.  

Mounts and replaces assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel.  

Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.  

Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.  

Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.  

Performs intermediate assembly tasks, such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color coding parts and assemblies.  

Trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.  

Other Duties and Responsibilities. From time to time the other duties listed may be needed to be performed.  

Transport equipment to customer locations and install the equipment.  

Travel to customer locations to assist in maintenance and repair of products.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  

Associate’s degree from a two-year college or university; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.  

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.  

REASONING ABILITY  

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS  

Valid driver’s license

IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 CIS Certification
