TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.)
1. Utilizes cost control methods for projects.
2. Help develop and implement scheduling for the assigned project both the master schedule and short term schedule.
3. Monitors the construction work to ensure quality and compliance with drawings and specifications.
4. Implements all field and company policies and procedures.
5. Provides the documentation required and/or necessary for their assigned project.
6. Follows all company and governmental safety regulations and procedures.
7. Communicates effectively with project management personnel and strives to develop a strong team relationship for his/her project.
8. Communicates effectively with subcontractors to achieve ultimate goal of completing the project on time and within the cost.
9. Provides proper guidance and creates a positive attitude among the subcontractors.
10. Works with the architect and owner to coordinate the construction activity.
11. Works with the subcontractors to resolve issues found in the field.
12. Other responsibilities as assigned.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require):
High School Diploma or General Equivalent Diploma; Degree in Construction Management preferred and/or on the job experience.
LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require):
• Valid Wisconsin Driver License
KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry):
• 5+ years of relevant experience as a Construction Superintendent in the construction industry.
• 5+ years experience in build-out construction preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of primary/specialty trade services performed on a GC project.
SKILLS (position requirements at entry):
• Using computers, smartphones and tablets along with related software including Windows operating system and associated software.
• The ability to: process verbal information; understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents; and communicate with others to convey information effectively.
• The ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions.
• The ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.
• The ability to frequently meet deadlines with attention to detail and to complete tasks and required documentation in a timely manner.
• Utilizing communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, and others sufficient to exchange or convey information.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally.
