Cutting Machine Operator ark

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for cutting the material for high quality boat covers, bags, awnings, truck tarps and custom products from a variety of fabrics and materials

• Setup and operate a cutting machine, Lectra Vector

• Monitors operation of cutting machine to detect malfunctions or accuracy issues

• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or work pieces

• Uses engineering practices, computer assisted design/drafting equipment and Lectra Vector Software to develop designs

• Reads production schedules, inventory reports and work orders to determine type and quantity of materials required, availability of stock and order priority

• Examines material received, verifies part numbers and checks discrepancies such as damaged or unmarked parts

• Interact with customers on engineering design and respond to questions/problems

• Other duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

• Experience with a cutting machine such as Lectra Vector, Eastman or Gerber preferred

• Ability to sew a plus but not required

• Design experience preferred

• Experience working with canvas materials preferred

• Ability to use standard office equipment

• Ability to add, sub-tract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

The employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, feel or handle objects,

tools or controls; and reach with hands or arms. The employee is occasionally required to

stand and walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Must be able to

walk or stand on concrete for up to 4 hours at a time

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to focus
