RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Design, engineer, new designs, update existing designs.
· Finding cost effective ways to give our customer what they want.
· Making the request a reality.
· Research and find new innovations that are cost-effective.
· Turn those researched ideas and drafts into technical plans for prototypes that will impress our customers.
· Work as a team to turn the concept into a working model for our production crew.
· Test and run on the prototype.
· Review and modify where appropriate and retest.
· Repeat until all necessary adjustments and modifications are complete until the product is ready for manufacturing.
· Managing the project, being persistent, having excellent communication skills with the project managers, team and clients throughout the process.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
· 5 years of industrial product design and engineering experience
· 5 years of mechanical engineering experience
· Proficiency with computer-aided design software, AutoCAD and SolidWorks
· Proven ability to create 2D and 3D renderings
· Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials
· Experience with furniture, cabinets, retail displays, or merchandising would be a huge plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
· Must be able to work in an office environment with other team members and moderate noise levels up to 8 hours a day.
· Must be able to sit at a desk up to 8 hours per day.
· Must be able to use hands and fingers for daily work on computer and department tasks.
· Must be able to use vision to review department work, including close vision on a computer screen.
· Must be able to communicate by using and hearing a telephone.
· Must be able to occasionally stand and walk to interact with production team in manufacturing environment which could include lifting, twisting, bending, reaching, and gripping.
· Must be able to occasionally work in a manufacturing setting for department tasks that may include environmental factors of noise, dust, chemical fumes, hot weather, and cold weather.
