Essential functions of job:

1. Knowledge of company operating systems including but not limited to; ERP software, CAD software, Vault Basic File Storage and various shared directories.

2. Structure / Create Bills of Materials (BOM’s) within ERP system.

3. Proficiency with AutoCAD Inventor for development of sheet metal components, machined components, weldments, pneumatics and sub assembly creation.

4. Assign proper numbering sequence to developed drawing and saved in the proper server directory in the proper format following company's standard procedures.

5. Machine conceptualization or product line extensions. Includes selecting and testing of materials and components suitable for the product environment.

6. Knowledge of basic design cycle, including conceptualization, developing prototype designs, testing and perfecting the design while maintaining perfect records.

7. Work independently and in groups, including component suppliers and fabricators as required.

8. Establishing floor plan line layout of customer’s facilities.

9. Provides production support to the assembly and quality control personnel as it relates to the designs.

10. Possess good organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects keeping time frames a priority.

11. Determine project timeframes to specific phases or aspects of project.

12. Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.

13. Control expenditures within limitations of project budget.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time salaried position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Travel:

Possible, but very infrequent travel to custom facilities and trade shows.

Preferred Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

2. 3 – 5 years experience in machine design.
