ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Utilizing documentation, selects appropriate tooling, gauging and supplies to prepare the cell for production
• Performs machine setup and tool change
• Operates equipment efficiently, monitoring machine performance and workpiece quality to ensure specifications and production rates are being met.
• Performs quality checks as specified per workpiece to ensure proper tolerances are held
• Prepares cell performance documentation reports/checklists
• Cleans and packages workpieces for effective material handling
• May operate material handling equipment as needed to deliver stock to cell or stage completed product for shipment
• Communicates with others in the department to ensure the smooth flow of work
• Maintains a clean working environment through machine cleaning, tool organization, chip clearing, cutting oil maintenance, etc.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 3+years machine operation experience
• Attention to detail and a desire to maintain high standards of workmanship
• Applicant should be mechanically inclined, have good problem-solving skills, be able to work independently, be self-motivated and possess the ability to do highly accurate work that requires concentration and physical effort
• Flexibility - willingness to operate other equipment, perform work outside job duties when asked and work overtime hours when required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds unassisted. Occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds unassisted. Occasional use of overhead cranes for lifts greater than 50 pounds.
• Regularly stands for entire shift (10 hours)
• Regularly bends, stoops, reaches, climbs and moves.
• Regularly exerts up to 10 pounds of force and frequently exerts up to 25 pounds of force to move objects.
• Work environment is bright and temperature controlled.
• The nature of the work involves contact with various metals and oils.
