ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.
Responsible for promoting and contributing to a positive, cooperative working environment.
Supports the Company "Mission Statement".
Reports all safety concerns to a member of Warehouse Management or Facilities Management.
Removes stock from storage locations and delivers it to assigned packing locations.
Verifies stock against pick tickets, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious product damage to the proper personnel.
Verifies that stock pulled for an order agrees with the computerized order in regard to quantity, quality, and type of product. Reports any discrepancies to Group Leader or Warehouse
Management. Selects the most favorable routing and rate within the terms of the customer's order and processes the order on an automated packing terminal.
Prepares finished products for LTL shipment. Processes all LTL and messenger orders on computerized small package shipping systems, i.e. weighs all packages, stretch wraps pallets, applies proper shipping labels, and performs any special handling requested by the customer.
Determines which carrier will be utilized to deliver finished products to customers based on selected carriers provided by Warehouse Management.
Maintains working inventory of packing supplies. Notifies Warehouse Management when inventories are at low levels.
Assists in other areas of the warehouse operation as needed or requested.
Keeps the surrounding work area neat and free of debris.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent and minimum of 12 months experience in warehouse operations; or equivalent combination of education and
experience.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Knowledge of stock.
Ability to operate all appropriate material handling equipment. Certification in forklift operations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to converse with others and be able to hear equipment alerts and alarms.
The employee is frequently required to lift, move, and retrieve items weighing up to 70 pounds and occasionally assist with items weighing 70-150 pounds.
Employee is frequently required to be mobile and regularly required to stand while working at heights of up to 19 feet, handle objects, use tools, mount and dismount, occasionally ascend and descend. Specific vision abilities required in this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to fast moving vehicles.
Atmospheric conditions which could possibly affect the respiratory system or skin such as exposure to dust.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
