Seal-Shelter Assembly - 1st and 2nd shift jnf
Description of Duties/Responsibilities/Customer Requirements:
Review production schedule and job card for type and quantity of products to be assembled. Perform
covering operations, such as brush or spray gluing and attaching foam pad and hardware to boards.
Glue foam together to produce large pieces. Transport completed boards to assembly staging area.
Transport sewed covers from sewing to assembly area. Working as a team, apply cover to board and
foam, stretching and/or nailing the cover to the board. Attach hardware kit to board and clean gluing
equipment.
Transport aluminum pipe to assembly area. Cut pipe to proper length with a chop saw, measure pipe
and place in storage or assembly area. Add pull-rope systems to hoods, locating and drilling required
holes, and attaching screw eyes and pulleys. Prepare hood system hardware kits. Place aluminum
pipe in pipe sleeves, and place hood and required hardware in the box.
Assemble shelters, including trimming angles on wood with saw and placing wood in jigs, and
nailing and/or screwing wood parts together. Consult prints/drawing to assemble non-standard sizes.
Drill required holes in assembled frames. Place completed frames on horses, cut metal to required
size, drill holes, attach metal corners, and apply/cut fiberglass to proper frame fit. Place hardware
and/or pull-rope systems in proper frame locations.
Prepare assemblies and parts for shipment. Determine correct box size and produce box that fits the
packaged product. Position foam and/or cardboard spacing in shipping boxes. Attach serial tag
address shipping labels. Review charts and assign appropriate weight to the box. Record serial and
model numbers on shipping documentation. Place completed cover in plastic bags and transfer to
shipping area or load onto specified spotted truck. Box curtains and palletize bumpers.
Follow all safety and work rules and maintain workplace order and cleanliness.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by management.
Qualification Requirements:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to
perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the
knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Requires ability to read and understand drawings and written instructions relating to seal and
shelter assembly operations.
Requires six to twelve months experience in seal and shelter assembly techniques.
Requires the ability to function as a team member and contribute to group goals.
Requires the ability to operate a variety of hand tools such as an impact wrench, pneumatic nailer,
rivet guns, air shears, chop and radial saws, hand saw, ruler/tape measure, hammer, and pliers.
