Shipping Clerk - Assembler jml
Status: Full-time, 40 hours per week minimum (OT as required)
Shift: First Shift, Monday – Friday (occasional Saturday)
Hours: Summer Hours (Memorial Day – Labor Day): 6am-3pm M-Th, 7am-1pm Friday
Non-summer Hours: 6:30am-3:00pm M-F
Pay: $16-$19
Minimum Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma/GED Equivalent required
Experience/Qualifications:
Solid computer, math, organizational, communication & interpersonal skills; must also be detail oriented with the ability to meet deadlines and work well with members of several departments.
Must be able to read a ruler, count accurately and be able to distinguish colors.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work without constant direction are needed traits.
The candidate needs to be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis and 70lbs (occasionally) without assistance, be able to drive a forklift (will train) and have solid computer skills.
Ability to stand for long periods of time is also a must. Will need to work well with and communicate positively with others (production, inventory & office personnel).
Experience in Shipping/Receiving a plus but not mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Job:
Job is 60% shipping, 40% assembling/project based. Shipping: Prepare items for shipment, including all necessary paperwork, UPS/FED EX/LTL, etc.
Assembly: stripping wires, removing jacket from cable, crimping terminals, inserting terminals into connectors, tie wrapping, some soldering of wires (if they have the ability).
General assembly to our customers’ drawings and Genco’s internal work instructions.
Position will also serve as a backup to the Inventory Control position. Position will include use of pallet jack and/or forklift.
Special Requirements: must be able to lift 40lbs regularly and 70lbs (on occasion), have basic computer skills, be mechanically inclined/able to work with hand tools,
be able to work quickly under time constraints, have excellent attention to detail & be willing to work in assembly and on different projects as necessary.
