Qualifications
• 8+ years in a manufacturing environment with technical associate degree, Journeyman’s status, or related training.
• Good attitude, willing to learn, train others, and effectively communicate with co-workers.
• Shop math skills and ability to read advance shop drawings with geometric tolerancing.
• PowerMill experience minimum of 5 yrs and experience with Fusion 360 a plus.
• Experience on 5-axis floor bars.
• Experience with large part machining (over 10,000 pounds) a plus.
Responsibilities
• Plan, design, develop and implement methods and processes for machining products with high regard to Quality, Cost and Timing.
• Strategic development of all in-process job instructions per customer requirements.
• Identify appropriate equipment (CNC mills, lathes, etc.) and machining strategies per job.
• Understand/select correct tooling and feed rates for each unique job.
• Create and improve CAM programs utilizing software.
• Own the transition between Sales/engineering and production teams.
• Investigate/perform Root Cause analysis on all non-conformances.
Job description
This position’s main goal is to support our Specialty Machining group where jobs are custom 1 pc and/or low volume up to 10 pieces. This position is available for 1st shift work. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Setup, read/write programs, and CNC machines.
• Understand/select/order all specialty tooling for specific jobs.
• Support manufacturing of parts within required tolerances and specifications.
• Ensure all machining operations are at the highest level of productivity appropriate to the assigned project.
• Review setup sheets and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence, and dimensional verification.
• Collaborate with all machine operators with programming, speeds and feeds, setups to machine parts according to specifications.
• Communicate daily with supporting departments such as sales, scheduling, programming, NC supervisors, production personnel, maintenance, quality, and engineering to ensure product is delivered to the customer on time, and to the correct specifications.
• Provide shopfloor support as necessary to resolve any/all technical manufacturing issues.
• Perform all other duties as assigned
