Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Use Inventor, iLogic and AutoCAD Mechanical to develop and design tooling and fixtures.
· Design tools to aid in the manufacturing process. Update designs with any changes during and after tool build.
· Work with maintenance, manufacturing, and outside contractors on tool design.
· Review existing processes and develop solutions to increase productivity and quality or reduce costs.
· Evaluate new tools, equipment and processes. Assist in making recommendations to senior management to build or buy.
· Analyze existing procedures and processes for failure modes. Evaluate and modify procedures and processes to reduce/eliminate production defects.
· Participate in process review teams to determine feasibility of cost effectively manufacturing new products that meet customer needs and quality standards.
· Work on the manufacturing floor to help resolve problems and on continuous improvement projects.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
· 3 years of Tool and Die and/or Tool Design experience.
· Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
· Proficiency in 2020 version of Inventor, AutoCAD Mechanical and iLogic programming or newer. Consideration will be given to those who are fluent in Solidworks, NX, Creo, and other design softwares.
· Skill to read/understand technical material, engineering drawings, industry standards is required. Make suggestions/recommendations regarding the same when needed.
· Must have the ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics and possess troubleshooting skills related to equipment and processes.
· Working knowledge of precision measuring instruments.
· Experience in the design of close tolerance tooling and/or detail drafting.
· High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
· Ability to respond to changing priorities.
· Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and through written communications) with staff at all levels of the organization.
· Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
· The ideal candidate would possess knowledge about both hard and soft tool sheetmetal processing. Familiarity with mills, lathes, grinders, and other toolroom equipment is also a plus.
