Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Including the following, however, additional duties may apply as required)
Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
Schedule production activities and maintain inventory to increase production and quality
Supervise and provide leadership, coaching, guidance, training, and staff development
Participate in interviews and selection of employees for assigned bay. Evaluate employee performance; counsel and discipline employees as necessary and monitors time and attendance
Ensure departmental goals of safety, quality, productivity, utilization, cost and delivery are met
Create and maintain atmosphere of trust and positive morale
Develop detailed production plan
Set departmental production milestones and meet or exceed through creating and supporting a culture of accountability
Ability to effectively communicate and promote active listing in small to medium groups of diverse backgrounds and various levels of management
Develop daily standard work and SOP’s for manufacturing
Lead root cause analysis and countermeasure implementation by using a structured problem solving process
Manage and Develop Staff and all associates to maximize their contribution to the success of the business and develop their talent and career potential to the fullest extent possible
Dynamic leadership resulting in improved operational performance through daily management, Gemba walks, providing feedback, mentoring next-level leadership
Directing and controlling assigned work force through strong communication skills
Participate in Continuous Improvement projects and Kaizen events
Education and Experience
High school diploma required. Technical degree and/or welding certifications preferred
Ability to read blueprints
Must have knowledge and experience of metal fabrication and welding techniques (hardwire, metal-core, flux-core & sub-arc); and large open table set-ups
Work well in a fast-paced environment, have excellent problem solving skills, and be able to multitask on a variety of projects
Previous supervisory experience required
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing OR Six Sigma methodologies a plus
