Welder - 1st Shift ahh

Duties and Responsibilities:

Read work orders and manufacturing standards, follows production drawings.

Understand engineered drawings and blueprints, determine the materials required, and the planning of tasks. Be able to read and understand weld symbols.

Understand and carry out our welding procedures, including torches, drills, dye grinders, hammers, levels, plasma cutters and overhead cranes.

Perform all welding tasks and related fabrication and finishing processes.

Rig, hoist, and move materials within worksite.

Understand all quality requirements for products and meet those requirements.

Perform in-process testing and inspection to ensure parts meet production specifications and standards.

Inspect for proper quality before proceeding to next steps.

Detect and report defective materials to the Supervisor and make any adjustments and repairs as required to meet precise specifications. Perform work on repair units.

Keep work area clean, organized and work in a careful and safe manner.

Complete any special projects as required. May be assigned to other areas of Operations, based on business or customer requirements.

Willing to work overtime as required.

Communication:

Use proper call-in procedures. o Maintain active verbal & written communication with peers and supervisors to ensure safe and effective productivity.

Have a teamwork attitude; listen, encourage, inspire, and motivate others.

Be clear and courteous to co-workers, customers, and outside sources.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

o Knowledge in welding industry.

o 1-2 years of welding experience preferred.

o Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, assembly, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, technical drawing, and procedural manuals.

o Able to work in a quality-production environment; keep a clean workstation, multi-task, meet production deadlines, be organized, detail orientated, dedication, problem solving and teamwork.

Safety and Training Responsibilities:

o Use safety devices, PPE, and other tools to maintain a safe environment.

o Observe health and safety signs, posters, warning signals and written directions.

o Follow safe practices: OSHA, SDS, PPE.

o Work in compliance with all Administrative, H&S policies and safety procedures as per legislative requirements.

o Actively participate in orientation and on-going training programs by the organization.

o Report any real or potential safety/health hazard, practices, &/or conditions to the Supervisor. Report all accidents, incidents or near misses to the Supervisor as well.

o Conduct daily inspections of work area.
